New Year…New Style

Like everyone else, I am ready to put 2020 behind me and look forward to a brighter future. Over the course of the last few months, I’ve implemented some significant changes in how I do business. But the changes are not limited to my business model and how I conduct business. With the beginning of this new year, I am eager to begin a new phase in my professional career…once again changing my design style to reflect the current trends in the florist industry.

Ten years ago, I made sweeping changes in every aspect of my flower shop…my website, my floral designs, my marketing, my attitude…everything was subject to overhaul. As a result, by business grew substantially after those updates. But…that was a decade ago. I can no longer continue to offer the same products and services moving forward into 2021 and beyond. Again…it’s time for an update!

I’ve recently changed my business model that is reflective of the current atmosphere. I’m now overdue in offering newer and more modern design styles that seem to be growing in popularity across the nation and the world. Although I’ve been a floral designer for 37 years now, I learned a few years ago that a person in my position can not fail to evolve…I must learn new designs, master new tricks of the trade, and offer new products if I want to my business to remain relevant.

Moving forward into 2021, I will be overhauling my design style to a more relaxed and natural look. Over time, every design that is currently offered on my website will be replaced with a new design that reflects my current attitude and mood. It’s a style that is incredibly appealing…beautiful in its simplicity and structure. This style focuses on texture, offering a wide variety of foliage and beautiful accent flowers . It’s more loose and airy…which are qualities that are often requested at my shop. You may also notice that many of the new designs will move away from the traditional glass vase in favor of containers made from natural materials…concrete or wood, perhaps.

As I evolve as a designer, I hope you continue to support my little flower shop here in Valley, AL. I’ve been doing this a LONG time, but I will be the first to tell you that I’m always trying to improve my skills and stay at the top of the game. My family…my livelihood depends on this flower shop, and I’ll never stop learning and growing. I believe I owe that to the community that has supported my family business for over 50 years.

Thank you…and Happy New Year to everyone!
