2017 Wedding Season Coming to a Close

Or is it?

I really don’t know when “Wedding Season” is any more! Traditionally it was thought to be April through June (ever heard the term “June Bride”?), but over the last few years, I’ve had less and less weddings during that time and I’ve noticed brides electing to have their weddings in late summer and Fall. This year is certainly a testament to that…more than half of our contracted weddings in 2017 were during the months of August and September. In 2016, October was the heaviest month at our shop for weddings.

Why such a shift? Who knows? I am noticing that more brides are citing extreme heat as a reason to stay away from June and July dates. However, August is typically the hottest month of the year, and for whatever reason it has remained a popular month for weddings. So you can’t blame the heat. Perhaps it’s simply just how things work out…the best time for the bride and groom to get off work and take a honeymoon and other personal factors.

No matter when your wedding was, if we serviced it, we are so proud to have been a part of your special day. Even after 33 years of weddings and floral design, I feel like I’m doing my best work right now. See…even an old dog can learn new tricks! The current trend in wedding design that features more foliage and textures is one that I can truly wrap my senses around and put my heart into every design. It’s so natural and beautiful, and I’m ecstatic to see so many brides choose this type of design and theme (and certainly glad to see the departure of past trends like burlap and mason jars!)

Now, it’s time to look ahead to…wait, it can’t be…2018 already? We are already booking weekends for next year, so if you have a date and venue chosen, give us a call and we’d like to meet with you to see if we can enter into a relationship…client and wedding vendor…and that’s a relationship that we take VERY seriously (although we’re so laid back, you might not notice!)
